I'm glad you beat me to the punch because I'm so delighted to tell you our stay was perfect in every way. The Fairmont was beautiful. The rooms were comfortable and the location was perfect. You were right, it couldn't have been more convenient to the Blue Duck Tavern which saved us from losing our 645 dinner res when our plane arrived late.

First I'd like to say how delightful you have been to work with. Your attentive and helpfulness was outstanding. We all had a great time and Max enjoyed his trip very much. Bob and I adopted a saying 'it's your world, we're just living in it' when deciding what to do. The Madison was a very nice hotel, perfectly situated for what we did and the staff was quite good. We did have a problem at check in in that they didn't have a double room for us so we had to move the next day when I would have preferred to unpack and settle in. An inconvenience but certaily didn't ruin a wonderful trip.

The room accommodations was nothing less than fantastic and I feel lucky to have found a resource like Magellan Vacations to help get a great deal like the Doubletree Hotel. Ill certainly reach out to your service again when the situation warrants. I didnt explore the wide world of restaurants this time because the local restaurants in the vicinity (and within) the Doubletree Hotel was plenty for what I needed. There were also meals served on-site at the convention.

"Myles - knock my socks off! You/Magellan WILL be hearing from me again, as will family and friends. What great service and follow up!

The Liaison was perfect in many ways, and not so good in others. Perfect in location (which is why we chose it in the first place) and perfect in beds and bedding - it was tremendously comfortable to sleep there on those all-cotton sheets - which is about the most important criteria for a hotel. Too, it was clean and full of helpful people, from the guy who organized a car rental for me to the helpful guy out front who organized a night-time tour of the capital for our small group and also the terrific housekeepers and foodservice folk. Not helpful was the person or persons who should have 'come right up' as promised several times, to unclog the toilet. It took more than 4 hours to get that accomplished despite several calls. That is darned unacceptable for so many reasons. The room was tight for the 3 of us - but you advised that we were choosing a smaller room for proximity to the Capitol, so that was understood, though it was a surprise that the floor slanted!

Annoying was the lobby/public spaces - they were dark and noisy - which may be exactly the atmosphere the Affinia group is after - to give the impression of a hot spot where important things were happening but the downside was there was nowhere to sit for a quiet conversation - and in fact, nowhere to gather comfortably outside of my room in the whole hotel that we found! Who sits on all those awkward unpleasant chairs and couches?!?

My sister emoted about the delish lunch they had at the hotel restaurant on the day they checked out. And I was able to negotiate a late check out so that my 90 year old Mom didnt have to sit around in the airport all afternoon, in fact, she had a nap just before we left, which made the trip home much easier to accomplish.

It was a remarkable trip to celebrate her lifetime achievement and acknowledgement from the Congress, thanks for asking.

Finally - we love Canadians! Congratulations on all the Canadian Gold Medals from Whistler/Vancouver!
